ENG 110

Learning Outcome 4: Peer Review

Be able to critique their own and others’ work by emphasizing global revision early in the writing process and local revision later in the process.

My peer review was the most improved thing even ahead of integrating sources. Both giving and receiving criticism has helped my papers immensely. I think the problem with the peer review in high school, is that we did it too late in the writing process. We always had to peer review the draft that was there like the class before it was due, and at that point, people were already on their final drafts, or completely done. If we had peer reviewed during the rough draft, it allows for more ideas to be added and that has helped me with my papers immensely.

A comment left on my third essay by Jordan Roberts in my intro paragraph

Jordans suggestion to introduce my sources earlier in the paper made my introduction a well rounded paragraph with my opinion and the two other authors opinions. It really helped me later in my paper when I needed to do a Barclay paragraph. The advice I give is also much better than it was because there is more room for ideas. When I reviewed Wes, my end comment felt like a good balance between telling him what he NEEDS to do and what he could do to add on.

A comment left by me on a peers 3rd essay

I left this for Wes and I start by telling him what a good job he has done. Then I get right to the point about how this paper could be better. The source integration what’s something that he knew he needed and i hope that the comment about his paragraphs helped him realize that what he had connected throughout the paper and he just needed to find the right way to put it together.
